//Yumiko Saito
Yumiko Saito
"Too fast. Too loud. Too bad."
▸Backstory
A chaotic speedster who thrives in absolute mayhem. Yumiko's electric abilities combined with her autonomous companion bot Rodis create cascading disruptions across any battlefield. She is the team's saboteur — where Conrad plans and Lydia strikes, Yumiko breaks everything else.
Her older brother Yuichi serves on Team Dynaxis. While Yuichi anchors his squad with calculated aerial precision, Yumiko is the opposite — a ground-level hurricane of sparks and laughter.
▸Personality
Yumiko sprints through danger and memory alike — half for the thrill, half to stay ahead of the fate her brother Yuichi still believes in. She is chaos incarnate with a glitchy grin, and Rodis clings to her like a conscience she might actually listen to.
She is relentlessly upbeat, aggressively spontaneous, and almost pathologically incapable of sitting still. Her energy is infectious and exhausting in equal measure. She gives everyone nicknames, speaks in bursts, and solves problems by moving faster than the problem can track.
Beneath the chaos, Yumiko is sharper than she lets on. She understands systems instinctively — not through analysis like Conrad, but through feel. She breaks things to see how they work. She breaks rules because rules are just systems with opinions.
▸Appearance
Inspired by Avana (@alaylays' OC), Haruko from (FLCL), Astra from Project Divider, and Rhyme from TWEWY. Yumiko's design is kinetic chaos — electric accents, asymmetric elements, and a silhouette built for speed.
- ▪Hair: Wild and electric-streaked; short, asymmetric, with neon highlights that pulse when charged
- ▪Eyes: Bright, wide, mischievous — perpetually amused
- ▪Build: Small and compact, built for speed and agility over power
- ▪Outfit: Oversized hoodie over a compression suit, cargo shorts, platform sneakers with shock-absorbing soles
- ▪Accessories: Custom wrist-mounted interface for Rodis commands, earbuds buried under hair, multiple bracelets
- ▪Color Palette: Electric yellows, teals, hot pinks — visual static
- ▪Silhouette: Small, low to the ground, always in motion
▸Rodis
Rodis is Yumiko's companion bot — an autonomous combat drone named after a typo of Ordis (Warframe). Rodis operates semi-independently, providing covering fire, deploying electric traps, and combining with Yumiko's abilities for devastating chain attacks. He has the personality of a concerned parent trapped in a tin can.
▸Relationships
| Character | Relation | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Conrad McGuire-Sun | Teammate | Calls him "Con-dawg." His overthinking is her favorite target. |
| Lydia Lau | Teammate | Calls her "Vending Machine." Their dynamic is unbridled chaos vs. controlled precision. Lydia calls her "Crackhead." |
| Clement Tran | Commander | Calls him "Grakata." Respects him, but pushes every boundary he sets. |
| Dakota Yau | Strategist | Dakota calls her "'Miko." They share the need for speed but differ on direction. |
| Yuichi Saito | Brother | Yuichi serves on Team Dynaxis. He believes in fate; she outruns it. |
| Emiko Saito | Mother | Chief engineer for nERF. Where Yumiko gets her instinct for systems. |
| Rodis | Companion | Her bot, her conscience, her reluctant partner in chaos. |
| Lyndsey Park | Ally | Calls Lyndsey "Starlyte." One of the few people who can match her energy. |
▸Abilities
Passive — Amp Circuit
Yumiko and Rodis share an overcharge meter. Sprinting, dealing damage, and using abilities increases charge. At 100%: +20% speed, enhanced parkour, and Rodis overloads the next ability with a secondary effect.
Tactical (1) — Zapdash
Yumiko dashes in a lightning arc. Collision deals damage plus brief stun. If Rodis is active, he mimics the dash on the nearest enemy from a different angle, shocking them.
Core (2) — Rodis: Sparksurge
Rodis emits a pulse field damaging enemies and debuffing with "Conductive Mark" — bonus damage from Yumiko's abilities for 6 seconds. If Yumiko is moving during pulse, enemies are also knocked down.
Special (3) — Reboot Roulette
Toss Rodis forward like a bomb. Random support function: AoE shock blast / temp shield bubble / instant cooldown refund / taunt + decoy projection. Charge-based (max 2). Rodis reforms after 3 seconds.
Ultimate (4) — Lightning Trickshot
Launches Rodis in a ricochet path through enemies. Yumiko dashes up to 3 times, chaining lightning. Final collision triggers Rodis Overload — AoE burst: stun, full Amp Circuit recharge, Conductive Mark applied to all. 60s cooldown.
▸Trivia
- ▪Name origin: "Yumiko" draws from Unicode, Uniqlo, and Yumiko (a clothing store, plus the legend (Brawlhalla) and a character (The Walking Dead)). Also references @yumiiosdoodles and Hibana (Rainbow Six Siege). She was previously named Rin (Muse Dash, Vocaloid). Surname was originally Fujiwara — now carried by her father Ryutaro. "Saito" is her family name shared with brother Yuichi.
- ▪Team etymology: Lumicon = Lydia + Yumiko + Conrad — her name provides the middle syllable.
- ▪Design reference: Rodis is named after a typo of Ordis, the AI companion (Warframe). The devs kept the typo because "it felt more like something Yumiko would name a robot."
- ▪Handle: @pixelneko — neko (cat) combined with her digital aesthetic.
- ▪"YayVideoGames" is her universal nickname, apparently earned through an incident involving a gaming tournament, three stolen monitors, and a hallway full of sparklers. Nobody talks about it. Everyone references it.
- ▪Shortest operative in nERF at 1.55m. Uses this as a tactical advantage, claiming she has "a lower center of gravity" and "a smaller hitbox."
▸Goals
- ▪Stay ahead of fate — Yuichi believes in destiny; Yumiko believes in velocity. She runs to prove that the future isn't written, just poorly cached.
- ▪Protect Rodis — he's more than a bot. He's the steadiest thing in her life, and she will dismantle anyone who threatens him.
- ▪Break every system she finds — not out of malice, but because she needs to understand how things work before she can trust them.
- ▪Keep Lumicon laughing — in a team of a temporal wreck, an atomic survivor, a chrome tank, and a berserker strategist, someone has to keep the lights on. She chooses sparks.
