The power structures of nu-Eden: Sundered Skies extend far beyond the nine nERF teams. Corporate Seven Conglomerates, autonomous militaries, shadowy councils, and liminal agents all vie for control — or survival — in a city built on exploitation.

▸nERF

The nu-Eden Resistance Force — a decentralised insurgency organised into nine combat cells. nERF's numbers swell through the Broken Contract model of recruitment: the resistance is the only sanctuary for those whose social credit (Credisys) has defaulted, leaving them "Invalidated" by corporate systems.

Led by Aoi Matsuno (Aegis) and founded by Brendan Matsuno (Orion), nERF opposes corporate rule through direct action and the liberation of exploited citizens. See Characters for the full team roster.

▸C.I.D.E

Corporate-Integrated Defence Enforcement — the joint state-corporate military police of nu-Eden. C.I.D.E operates as The Board's armed wing, enforcing conglomerate law across all sectors. Not a peacekeeping force — an occupation force with a budget line.

▸The Board

The corporate parliament of nu-Eden. Not a government — a boardroom with a military budget. Led by Ryutaro Shinoda (Regis), the Board sits atop the Cloud, literally above the law.

▸The Seven Conglomerates

Seven mega-corporations control nu-Eden, each tied to a deadly sin. Their directors — the Directors — are the primary antagonists of each season arc.

Shared Corporate Infrastructure

▸The Triad

Three autonomous mercenary factions operating in the Heap — the undercity of nu-Eden. They all sell violence, but hate each other for how they sell it. The Board exploits their rivalries to prevent any single autonomous military from becoming dominant.

▸The Old Guard

The parent generation of the resistance. Former decorated super-soldiers who now hold nERF's command positions. Every traumatised twenty-something in the field has a parent who was there first.

▸The Nameless

Agents of the Interstice — the lawless wasteland of ruins, paranatural horrors, and eldritch abominations that exist outside of normal spacetime. The Nameless operate beyond all faction structures. Three of the four members are Old Guard contemporaries who abandoned nERF's chain of command.
