▸Team Protagonists
Conrad McGuire-Sun — Team Lumicon
Conrad leads Lumicon, the vanguard cell of the nERF. A time-fractured operative and the sixth surviving version of himself, Conrad is the player's primary lens into the world of nu-Eden. His leadership balances tactical pragmatism with the weight of living on borrowed timelines.
Tristan Fourier — Team Retronyx
Tristan leads Retronyx, the broadcast glitch you can't unsee. He died in a failed revolt and came back as a spectral entity—now he channels that rage through every mission.
Madeline Ellis — Team Metanoia
Madeline leads Metanoia, deep-shift specialists in mindbreaking and dimensional bleed. A former neuro-visual artist turned battlefield illusionist, she weaponises perception in defiance of a system that once pitted her against her own father Malcolm.
Xenia Balan — Team Dynaxis
Xenia leads Dynaxis, a high-voltage syndicate driven by rivalry and augmentation. A mirrored assassin born from fractured identity, she walks the edge of perception and projection.
Genzo Kazetani — Team Genesce
Genzo leads Genesce, post-human survivors engineered for entropy, decay, and silence. They specialise in biotoxic warfare and clinical erasure, embodying the gluttony of consumption and the hunger for oblivion.
Ilya Asimov — Team Tesserae
Ilya leads Tesserae — vengeance encrypted, grief weaponised. Ezra's older brother, branded a tyrant by the system he sought to reform, Ilya fights with the fury of someone who has already lost everything.
Alex Matsuno — Team Avanza
Alex leads Avanza, the first spark of resistance — formed before the collapse, bound by blood and sacred ties to Maborite. The eldest child of the Matsuno family, Alex trained under both his parents but forged his own path on the front lines.
Kizuna Moriuchi — Team Spektra
Kizuna leads Spektra, arbiters of memory, judgment, and consequence. A self-taught mercenary and VR tactician, she joined nERF to keep her younger sister Karina alive after salvaging her consciousness from a rogue AI system.
Neville August Langley — Team Fenrir
Neville leads Fenrir, the nERF's most dangerous cell. Fenrir operates in the moral grey zone — doing what other teams won't or can't, and taking on missions that require a level of ruthlessness and unpredictability that even the Directors fear.
▸Antagonists — The Directors
The seven Directors serve as the primary antagonists, each tied to a deadly sin and controlling one of nu-Eden's mega-Seven Conglomerates.
| Director | Conglomerate | Sin | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Otis | Maboroshi Technologies | Greed (Avaritia) | Controls the maborite supply |

| Quincy | Qroma Alliance | Envy (Invidia) | Cultural gatekeeper, controls identity |
| Xu Qinyi | Tectra Analytics | Gluttony (Gula) | Data harvester, controls information |
| Belinda | OrdoPrimus | Pride (Superbia) | Authoritarian, controls law and order |
| Tariq | Arcanis Industries | Wrath (Ira) | Military-industrial magnate |

▸Character Design Notes
- ▪Teams have varied sizes: Lumicon has 6 (including Rodis, a companion bot), and Avanza has 6, all others have 5
- ▪Each team maps to a deadly sin, a Latin arc name, and an opposing conglomerate
- ▪Character names draw from real artists, musicians, and cultural figures — design inspirations range from WipEout to TWEWY to Warframe
- ▪Each operative has a type (damage element), class (combat role), and callsign (field name)
- ▪No character is purely good or evil — even the Directors have internally consistent motivations
