▸Backstory

Tristan died in a failed revolt against Eos Broadcasting — executed live on air as a warning to the resistance. But death didn't stick. Something in the maborite saturating his body rejected the end, and Tristan clawed his way back as a spectral entity — part ghost, part unstoppable berserker.

Now he leads Team Retronyx, channelling his post-mortem fury into every mission. His spectral form allows him to phase through solid matter, but the rage that fuels his abilities threatens to consume what remains of his humanity.

▸Personality

Tristan is fury with a pulse. He came back from death not gently, not peacefully, but screaming — and he has not stopped. His anger is not directionless; it is precise, structural, architectural. He knows exactly what he is angry about and exactly who deserves it.

Beneath the rage is a sharp tactical mind that he rarely lets people see. He leads Retronyx not with charisma but with intensity — he goes first, hits hardest, and expects his team to keep up. When he trusts someone, the trust is absolute. When he doesn't, the hostility is equally total.

He struggles with the question of whether what came back from death is really him or something else wearing his face. Lyndsey calls him "Trustfall." He does not find this funny.

Inspired by Vash the Stampede (Trigun), Leon Kennedy (Resident Evil), and Carlyle (Project Divider). Tristan's design is spectral fury — translucent edges, ghostly afterimages, and a physicality that seems slightly wrong.

▸Abilities

Passive — Wraith Engine

Tristan generates Wraith Energy when taking or dealing damage. At max stacks, he enters a semi-phased state — gaining damage resistance and the ability to pass through thin walls and obstacles.

Tactical (1) — Phase Rush

Tristan charges forward, phasing through all obstacles and enemies in his path. Enemies he passes through take ghost damage and are briefly marked — marked enemies take increased damage from Tristan.

Core (2) — Spectral Rend

A wide sweeping attack with ghostly claws. Hits all enemies in a cone and slows them. If used while phased, the attack ignores shields and armour.

Special (3) — Death Echo

Tristan splits into two spectral copies. Both copies fight independently for a few seconds, then converge on a target — the convergence deals massive burst damage.

Ultimate (4) — Requiem

Tristan fully embraces his spectral nature, becoming intangible and invulnerable for the duration. He can freely move through the battlefield, marking enemies. When the effect ends, all marked enemies are struck by a simultaneous spectral detonation.

• ▪Name origin: "Tristan" references an acquaintance during national service, and the Shakespearean play Tristan and Isolde — his mother is named Isolde. Surname "Fourier" references the Fourier transform (spectral analysis).
• ▪Team etymology: Retronyx = Renata + Tristan + onyx
• ▪Handle: @t4ier — stylized "t-for-ier," deliberately obscure.
• ▪His death was broadcast live. Eos Broadcasting used it as propaganda. When he came back, they tried to broadcast that too. He destroyed the camera.

▸Goals

1. ▪Destroy Eos Metavision — they killed him on air. They will answer for it.
2. ▪Determine if he is still himself — the ghost came back. The question is whether the man did.
