nu-Eden: Sundered Skies
//Jaime Choi
Jaime Choi
"The current carries everything — even the things you try to forget."
▸Backstory
A quiet force in the background of every Spektra operation. Jaime channels cascading hydrokinetic energy to sustain, cleanse, and fortify her team. Where others in Spektra disrupt and fracture, Jaime restores — acting as the team's emotional and tactical anchor. Her calm demeanor belies a current that runs deeper than anyone suspects.
▸Personality
Jaime is the current that carries everything. Not the storm, not the tidal wave — the steady, deep flow that moves beneath the turbulence and brings everything along.
She operates in Spektra's background, which is where she prefers to be. Kizuna calibrates, Nicole judges, Fairuz fractures — and Jaime heals the damage they all take doing it. Her hydrokinetic abilities are restorative by nature, and her personality mirrors them: calm, cleansing, relentless in a patient way.
As the mother of Jana Choi and Julia Choi, she carries the weight of watching her daughters fight on separate teams with opposite elements. Jana burns through water; Julia freezes through ice. The thermal symbolism isn't lost on Jaime — she's the water that exists between fire and frost, the temperature her daughters can't find.
Her codename shifted from Kardia to Jaime Choi — from heart to cascading water. The change reflects her role: she doesn't lead through passion but through persistence, like water finding its level no matter what obstacles are placed.
She's quiet in meetings. She's quiet in combat. The silence isn't absence — it's the sound of a deep current doing its work.
▸Appearance
Inspired by Kai'sa (League of Legends) and Yuna (Final Fantasy X), Jaime's design treats support and serenity as active strength.
Jaime's design is flowing water support — serene, grounded, and subtly powerful in the way deep rivers are.
- ▪Hair: Long, dark, with a gentle wave that suggests water even at rest
- ▪Eyes: Brown, calm, deep — the eyes of someone who observes currents others can't see
- ▪Build: Graceful and steady, a support operative's physique — built for sustained presence rather than burst engagement
- ▪Outfit: Hydrokinetic support suit with cascading water-motif panels, restorative emitters at the wrists and palms, a flowing half-cape in deep blue. Utility belt with debuff cleansing vials.
- ▪Color Palette: Deep ocean blue, silver, soft teal — calming and deep
- ▪Distinguishing feature: Water traces along her forearms during ability use, even when she's not actively channeling — as if the current is always just below the surface.
▸Relationships
| Character | Relation | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Jana Choi | Daughter | Team Avanza. Water-type, like Jaime. Jana inherited the element but channels it through storm and motion rather than patience. |
| Julia Choi | Daughter | Team Tesserae. Ice-type — water's frozen form. Julia's thermal state is the opposite of Jaime's flow. The mother-daughter dynamic spans temperature. |
| Kizuna Moriuchi | Teammate | Kizuna is noise; Jaime is the silence that absorbs it. Jaime heals the damage Kizuna's stress-tests inflict. |
| Nicole Rose Langley | Teammate | Nicole judges; Jaime restores. Both are necessary. Jaime doesn't question Nicole's methods — she just fixes what they leave behind. |
▸Abilities
Passive — Tidal Memory
Healing an ally stores a Cascade Charge (max 4). At max charges, Jaime's next ability creates a Resurgence Ripple — a secondary healing wave that pulses outward to nearby allies.
Tactical (1) — Riptide Mend
Launches a water bolt that heals the first ally it contacts and cleanses one debuff. If it passes through enemies, applies a brief slow.
Core (2) — Spring Basin
Deploys a restorative pool at target location. Allies inside regenerate HP over time and gain minor status resistance. Enemies inside have reduced movement speed. Lasts 8s.
Special (3) — Cascade Shield
Wraps a target ally in a flowing water barrier that absorbs damage for 5s. When the shield breaks or expires, it bursts outward, healing nearby allies for a portion of damage absorbed.
Ultimate (4) — Deluge Veil
Summons a torrential field across a wide area for 10s. Allies gain sustained healing, debuff immunity, and movement speed. Enemies are slowed and have their vision obscured. On expiry, a final surge heals all allies inside for a burst amount.
▸Trivia
- ▪Name origin: Named after Cho Mi-yeon (G-IDLE member). Also derived from Damon Albarn & Jamie Hewlett (creators of Gorillaz) — the Gorillaz connection pairs Jaime Choi Mi-yeon with Damon McGuire-Sun as a reference duo. Spelling changed from "Jamie" to "Jaime" in Wave 3.
- ▪Codename history: Kardia (heart) → Jaime Choi (cascading water). The shift from passion to persistence maps Jaime's role evolution from emotional center to operational support.
- ▪Family spanning three teams: Jaime (Spektra), Jana (Avanza), Julia (Tesserae) — the Choi family exists across three factions with water→water→ice type progression. The thermal gradient is the family's narrative structure.
- ▪Honest Trailer nickname: "Kanon Tachibana. Delighting You Always."
▸Goals
- ▪Keep her daughters alive — not together, not safe. Alive. Jana and Julia fight on different teams with opposite elements. Jaime flows between both.
- ▪Anchor Spektra — Kizuna calibrates, Nicole judges, Fairuz fractures. Someone has to hold the team together after everyone else breaks it apart.
- ▪Master the deep current — Deluge Veil is the surface. She suspects her hydrokinetic abilities extend to currents the scanner arrays can't detect.
- ▪Bridge the temperature — her daughters are water and ice. She's the state between them. Finding that bridge is the family's healing.
