nu-Eden: Sundered Skies
//The Triad
The Triad
Three heads. One throat. No trust.
▸Overview
The The Triad is the collective name for the three autonomous mercenary syndicates that dominate nu-Eden's underworld. They are not allies — they are rivals locked in a permanent triangle of hate, each controlling a domain the others lack. C.I.D.E tolerates their existence because no single Triad can achieve dominance without the other two collapsing the balance.
▸The Three Syndicates
| Syndicate | Colour | Archetype | Leader | Controls |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lazulum | Blue | Mafia | Ulysses Vaughan (Avaris) | Infrastructure, contracts, legacy |
| Amaranth | Purple | Bratva | Priscilla Nommik (Prisma) | Narrative, media, spectacle |
| Malachite | White | Yakuza | Ulrich Larsson (Akuma) | Discipline, enforcement, ritual |
▸Triangle of Hate
Each syndicate has what the others lack — creating an eternal stalemate deliberately exploited by C.I.D.E to prevent any single autonomous military from becoming dominant.
Lazulum — Blue (Mafia)
The oldest Triad, claiming pre-nu-Eden criminal lineage. Violence as business continuity — everything is transactional and documented.
- ▪Doctrine: Long-term extortion, influence, debt traps. Willing to wait years to collect.
- ▪Philosophy: "Chaos is inefficient."
- ▪Why others hate them: They own people without killing them, and they remember everything.
Amaranth — Purple (Bratva)
The youngest and flashiest. Violence as performance.
- ▪Doctrine: Aesthetic terror — livestreamed raids, iconography, memetic warfare. Power is perception.
- ▪Philosophy: "Fear spreads faster than bullets."
- ▪Why others hate them: They attract unwanted attention, destabilise markets, and treat war like content.
Malachite — White (Yakuza)
Violence as identity. Highly ritualised, hierarchical, symbolic.
- ▪Doctrine: Members willingly erase names, histories, and bodies for loyalty. Order through self-destruction.
- ▪Philosophy: "Order through self-destruction."
- ▪Why others hate them: They escalate conflicts for meaning, not gain. They will burn a city to preserve face.
▸Power Balance
- ▪Lazulum controls infrastructure — without them, nothing moves.
- ▪Amaranth controls narrative — without them, nothing is believed.
- ▪Malachite controls discipline — without them, nothing is enforced.
C.I.D.E exploits this tripartite deadlock. nERF considers all three syndicates enemies of the people. The Board considers them useful chaos.
