"I've been fortified longer than most of you have been alive."

Backstory

Imran Habchi is a veteran operative of nERF and the father of Zaidan Reza Habchi. Codename Sutekh, Imran is a Rock/Cyber-type Sentinel — a hardened defensive specialist who merges geological resilience with cybernetic augmentation.

As nERF's senior weapons engineer, Imran designs, maintains, and field-tests the armament systems that keep the resistance armed. His codename references the Egyptian god of storms and disorder — a fitting irony for a man whose entire purpose is to impose order through impenetrable defence and systems that never malfunction.

Personality

Imran has been fortified longer than most operatives have been alive, and he says this without arrogance — it's a field report. His Rock/Cyber typing is the fusion of two defensive philosophies: the geological patience of stone and the mathematical precision of digital architecture. Imran doesn't crack. He also doesn't lag. The combination makes him the kind of defender that enemies learn to route around rather than engage.

As a Sentinel, his function is dual: early warning and active defense. Imran detects threats before they materialise and fortifies positions before they're attacked. His cybernetic augmentation extends this awareness into digital space — he monitors network traffic, electronic signatures, and communication patterns with the same attentiveness that his Rock typing applies to physical terrain.

His Chief Warrant Officer rank — Lambda classification, the same as Omar — places him in the technical specialist tier: not a commanding officer, but the irreplaceable expert that commanding officers depend on. You don't promote your best weapons engineer to a desk job. You keep him where the weapons are.

As a father, Imran transmitted his defensive obsession to Zaidan with predictable results. Zaidan inherited his father's need to fortify and protect, but applied it more aggressively — where Imran builds walls, Zaidan builds barriers with countermeasures. The son is the father's philosophy weaponised, and Imran isn't sure whether to be proud or concerned.

Appearance

Imran is inspired by a

  • Hair: Dark brown, cropped short — functional, unmaintained in any aesthetic sense. Imran's hair is a maintenance task, not a style choice.
  • Eyes: Amber-brown, with the alert focus of someone who is always scanning for structural weaknesses — in defenses, in people, in arguments
  • Build: Stocky, heavily muscled, with visible cybernetic augmentation along the forearms and hands — the weapons engineer who tests his own products. His grip strength is enhanced. His reflexes are augmented.
  • Outfit: Engineering overalls reinforced with tactical plating — Imran dresses for the workshop and the battlefield because they're the same place. Dynaxis insignia. Tool pouches that double as ammunition storage.
  • Color Palette: Stone grey, copper-bronze, dark earth — rock and circuitry
  • Distinguishing feature: The hands. Imran's hands are partially cybernetic — articulated, precise, scarred from testing prototypes. They move with the mechanical certainty of tools designed to build other tools.

Relationships

CharacterRelationNotes
Zaidan Reza HabchiSonDynaxis operative. Imran's defensive philosophy transmitted to the next generation and sharpened. Zaidan builds barriers with teeth; Imran builds barriers with depth. Same instinct, different expression.
Cordelia BalanDynaxis colleagueRock/Cyber and Ghost/Sound — the unfindable and the unbreakable. Together they form Dynaxis's generational defensive doctrine: Cordelia prevents detection, Imran prevents penetration.
Omar bin Abdul HakimFellow CWOTwo Lambda-classified warrant officers with overlapping defensive philosophies. Omar holds situations through command presence; Imran holds them through engineering. Both are indispensable and both know it.
Damon McGuire-SunOld Guard comradeImran builds the weapons; Damon uses them. The relationship is professional, respectful, and defined by mutual trust in each other's competence.

Abilities

Passive — Cybernetic Overload

Imran's cybernetic systems detect incoming threats. When an enemy ability is about to hit him, he automatically deploys a defensive protocol that reduces damage and marks the attacker for bonus damage.

Tactical (1) — Seismic Scanner

Deploys a ground-penetrating scan that reveals enemy positions and creates small rock pillars that damage enemies who step on them.

Core (2) — Bastion Protocol

Activates defensive cybernetics that create a protective energy field. The field absorbs damage and can be overloaded to release a shockwave that stuns nearby enemies.

Special (3) — Tectonic Firewall

Creates a line of rock barriers infused with cyber energy. Enemies attempting to cross take damage and are slowed, while allies can pass through freely.

Ultimate (4) — Divine Wrath

Imran channels the power of ancient storms, becoming a towering cybernetic colossus. He gains massive defense and periodically unleashes devastating energy blasts that home in on marked enemies.

Trivia

  • Name origin: Initially named "Emmanuel" before being changed to "Iman" and later "Imran" to avoid confusion. Surname "Habchi" from Hicham Habchi (@pyroowdaily), concept artist; middle name "Reza" from Isabelle Rezazadeh (Rezz), the electronic artist — mirroring son Zaidan's full name "Zaidan Reza Habchi."
  • Codename — Sutekh: The Egyptian god Set (Sutekh) — god of storms, disorder, and the desert. Ironic for a man who imposes absolute order. The implication is that Imran's order is itself a kind of contained chaos — a storm held in check by its own architecture.
  • Weapons engineer: Imran doesn't just defend — he builds the means of defense. Every shield, barrier, and fortification system in nERF's arsenal has Imran's engineering fingerprints on it.

Goals

  1. Keep nERF armed and operational — the weapons engineer's prime directive. If the resistance runs out of equipment, the resistance ends. Imran ensures this doesn't happen.
  2. Upgrade faster than the enemy adapts — Arcanis Industries supplies everyone, including the opposition. Imran has to design countermeasures for weapons he knows intimately because Arcanis built them from designs he used to have access to.
  3. Watch Zaidan become the better defensive engineer — Imran's technical legacy lives in his son's fortification doctrine. The father builds walls. The son builds walls that fight back. The evolution is correct.
