Mechanics

  • Frost-shielding: Ice units generate a "Frost-shield" that shatters upon taking a certain amount of damage, dealing AoE cold damage to nearby enemies.
  • Frozen Stasis: Applying enough cold stacks turns the "Frozen" status into a hard stun. During stasis, the target takes significantly reduced damage but cannot move.
  • Brittle Shatter: Attacking a "Frozen" target after stasis ends applies "Brittle," making their next taken hit a guaranteed critical.

Design Cues

  • VFX: Crystalline shards, frosty "breathing" clouds, and snowflake patterns on the ground. Reflective, glass-like textures for frozen surfaces.
  • SFX: Crispy cracking sounds, high-pitched "tinks," and low-frequency thuds for ice blocks (Hollow Knight + Celeste atmosphere).

Typical Abilities (design template)

  • Passive — Glacial Step: grants increased resistance to slows and leaves a cold trail that reduces enemy movement speed by 5%.
  • Tactical (1) — Ice Spikes: summon sharp ice spikes from the ground that deal damage and slow enemies.
  • Core (2) — Frost Nova: a burst of cold that deals damage and applies several cold stacks in an area.
  • Special (3) — Cryo Freeze: encase yourself in a block of ice to regenerate health and gain temporary invulnerability.
  • Ultimate (4) — Blizzard: create a large storm that continuously damages and eventually freezes all enemies inside.
